It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s about how fiction, and speculative fiction in particular, helps to shape our perspectives and influence society.<\/p>\n<p>My involvement with Vex Mosaic can be traced back to a presentation about fiction writing that I attended at a recent\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.capclave.org\" target=\"_blank\">Capclave<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I asked a question from the audience, to which the moderator and each panelist responded with some variation of &#8220;I&#8217;m not sure what you&#8217;re talking about.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 But fortunately the question did make sense to Dave Robison, Vex Mosaic&#8217;s founder, who happened to be sitting behind me.\u00c2\u00a0 Before he\u00c2\u00a0left he handed me a call for submissions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My essay \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Possible Futures: How Spec Fic Reengineers Reality\u00e2\u20ac\u009d appears today in the online magazine Vex Mosaic.
